Welcome To Franklin Technology Center

Franklin Tech is a Southwest Missouri area vocational school managed by the Joplin R-VIII School District and accredited by the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation, an alliance of the premier American educational accrediting agencies. Vocational training has been available through Franklin Technology Center for over seventy years. FTC offers a comprehensive schedule of Community Education classes as well as a wide variety of career programs for high school students and adults, adult basic education and GED preparation classes.
We've Moved
Franklin Technology Center’s 2020 Iowa Street campus was completely destroyed in the tornado that devastated the city of Joplin on May 22, 2011. Although we are saddened by the loss of the original Franklin Tech building, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new location at 420 S. Grand Avenue in Joplin.
Fall 2011 Community Education Schedule
We at FTC continue to recover from and navigate through the aftermath of the tornado that destroyed our building. Our schedule of classes this Fall will be more limited than normal but we will continue to add classes over the next few weeks. Most Community Education classes will be held at this new location while others may be offered at another of Joplin's schools or at the facility of one of our business partners. Franklin Technology Center will be celebrating our 75th year of existence in 2012. We will continue to offer quality career training programs and Community Education classes at our various locations throughout the city of Joplin. We expect our class offering to be back to normal in time for the Spring semester after the first of the year.
